March 26th, 2018 - NeSSIE partners gathered in Ghent (Belgium), hosted by Sirris, for the fourth Steering Committee meeting.
The NeSSIE project is steadily moving forward. On the Agenda the discussion on the NeSSIE Technology Roadmap. A strategy which aims to gain an efficient knowledge transfer of ACSs from the oil&gas sector into the ocean energy sector, delivering high-value manufacturing opportunities to the North Sea basin and the wider EU supply chain of ACS. And the definition of criteria and methods to launch soon an open innovation competition in order to address the technical and commercial challenges relating to corrosion and materials in offshore renewables. All NeSSIE Partners joined the meeting, whether physically of virtually, via web-conferencing.
The agenda of the day comprised a visit to the Materials Research Cluster Gent Test Centre, to which our partner Sirris belongs.
The next day, on to Brussels as some of the NeSSIE Partners took part at the Ocean Energy Europe event; while others met up with the EC for the start-up phase of the Interregional Innovation Pilot Action on MRE Marine Renewable Energy, a new initiative involving 16 Regions and to which all NeSSIE and ADMA Partners participate.
